We often get asked about the difficulty levels of our escape rooms because most escape room companies label their rooms by how hard they are or escape rates. At Escape Room Era, we escape ordinary and do things a little different! Our escape rooms are designed for everyone, whether you are an escape room aficionado or you’ve never played before. Let us explain.

You Control the Difficulty Level

We spend so much time and energy developing incredible rooms for you that we’d hate for you to not be able to enjoy every room we have to offer! At Escape Room Era, there is no game too difficult or too easy, because you are in charge of the difficulty level. You and your group get to decide how many hints to ask for. You will have a personal Game Master dedicated to your group and he or she will help you as much or as little as you like. Hints will make sure to move you forward in the game without directly telling you how to play the next step. It’s a nudge in the right direction, not a spoiler! The more hints you ask for, the easier the game is. So, if you want a challenging experience, try to play without asking for any help! Hints aren’t cheating, and asking for help doesn’t mean you lost, it just means you are learning how to be better at escape games!

Escape Room Era Games are for Everyone

Because you are in charge of the difficulty, our games can be played by anyone!  We have had everyone from Grandparents to toddlers in our rooms, and we LOVE when you bring the whole family together to make a memory with us! Our games are designed with ages 14 and up in mind, so if you have anyone under the age of 14, you will need to make sure an adult is in the room with them. Adults will help make sure our young escape artists stay on task and are following the rules, but your Game Master will do all of the heavy lifting. Competing with your Team

Many of our guests come hungry for a challenge and escape rooms are definitely sure to bring out your competitive side. One of the most fun ways to play is to split a large group across multiple rooms and see who can get the best time. In order to make sure everyone is playing the game with the same level of difficulty, then you and your teams should decide on a hint limit before you all play. This way, when you compare your final escape room time, you can be sure everyone was on even playing field. You are welcome to let your Game Master know, they LOVE some friendly competition! You can also choose to not stick to a limit but add 5 minutes to your final time after you finish the game for every hint you use.
